Our First Valentine’s Day party at school :)

Jord’s school was having a little party for Valentine’s Day yesterday, in which they’ve exchanged Valentine’s Day cards and candy. Each parent was asked to provide 12 cards and a candies and the kids will created a cute bag to put it all inside.

Last year, I waited for the Valentine’s Day clearance and purchased an awesome Kelly Percci Valentine’s Day designer paper. It’s a 12X12 pads so I thought I could use it to create a 3X3 cute little cards (it’s not as if they’re going to write inside or read it….:)). A quick calculation made me understand that each page will produce 8 cards, so I would need 2 pages and will be left with some extras in case of accidents or just to give away 🙂

All the teacher had to do was just fill in the other kids’ names and attach the candy we brought.
Hope the kiddos will like it 😉

Valentine’s Day Shaker (and Birthday :)) Card

As the Valentine’s Day madness continues, my fingers are burning with need to create 🙂

I felt like making a card, and since I just got my new heart framelitz die set, I know it’s going to be a shaker card.
I had it all pictured in my mind – with all the pink, glitter and little hearts. I heat embossed some of the pink card stock with clear embossing powder to give it some more shine, and then used gold embossing powder for the greeting.

One of the blogger I follow suggested adhering some of the sequence to the card, so even when it’s not shaken there are still some sequins hanging.

I thought the card was very girly (what would you expect with all this pink and glitter, right ?).
Seeing the comment left on my previous post, I decided to give the card to my friend.  The fact she just celebrated her birthday just made it more legit and I just knew the card has her name written all over it (not literally… lol).

Valentines Shaker

Not one of my best pics, but I was in a hurry to take it and go to school to pick up Jord and Maya 🙂 I’ll try taking a better picture are re-post.

So, Happy Birthday Tal and of course, Happy Valentines day XOXO

Valentine’s Day Madness Begins!

Hello!

We’ve been playing with the idea of a workshop. The workshop itself is going to be the easy part however, the logistics behind it is another story altogether…. And I need to start somewhere.

We needed to test the ground. To see if anyone would even be interested in such a thing. Tal (i.e.my good friend Tal who planted the seed in my mind and has been very supportive ever since) suggested some Facebook advertising (she knows a lot of people ;-)), and for that she would need a picture with samples of cards.

I was happy to comply, and gladly pulled up my sleeves and started working on the cards. When I planned those cards, the one thing I had in mind is that most of the potential participants never stamped in their life, therefore multi-technique or complicated card is out of the question, We need to keep it simple 🙂

So here is the samples I created. These are not the designs I thought of doing in the workshop (I planned on some simple die-cutting heart set that is on its way), or even some easy water coloring. But I’ll go with the flow 🙂

Hope that people will be interested…. mmm… Can be a little awkward otherwise hahaha…

3D Present Birthday Card

Back as I promised!

Last week, a friend of mine celebrated her birthday, and invited a bunch of us to celebrate with her.
Naturally, I volunteered to make the birthday card. As I was still organizing my craft room and did not have a lot of time, I sought for easy and simple yet cute and pretty card.

I started by stamping the long present (which is by the way from an old retired SU! set) using distressed ink on a Neenah 110lbs solar white card stock. I then used the big “Birthday” stamp from PTI birthday mini stamp set and coordinating die and stamped it with Versa mark ink to heat emboss it with glittery-green embossing powder. Since the outcome looked a bit pale to my taste, I die-cut the same word from a green glitter paper. when adhering it together it created a shading background which I think looked very cute. Sometime ‘accidents’ turns out to be better then the original design 🙂

So, using the Versa mark ink again, I stamped the “wishing you a very happy” from the same stamp set and heat embossed it with a magenta embossing powder.

And now for the fun part – I took some designer paper and cut it odd-shaped rectangles and wrapped then with purple embroidery thread.

HP present -1

Simple, easy and fast card and I by judging the reaction of the birthday girl – it was also cute and fun 🙂
If you’re interested in any of the product I used for this card, leave me a comment down below.

As now I’m going to have a new Valentin’s project, I promise to be back soon with many more cards.

Thanks for visiting and keep warm,

News and Updates

Shalom!

So, it’s been a while since the last time I’ve been here (or crafted for that matter…). In the past couple of months we moved into a new house, and I had to pack the old house, conduct the renovations, unpack and organize everything. and it takes some time…

The good news are that in our new home I actually have designated space for my crafting. A whole basement for myself to craft! So after organizing everything (and admiring my efforts…lol) I’m now ready to get back in business.

I talked to good friends earlier this week, and we discussed the possibilities to expend this ‘crafting hobby’ to something bigger – like card-making workshops. Here, in the U.S we’re going to celebrate Valentin’s day in two weeks, and this is a great opportunity to conduct my first workshop creating some cards.
As I’m social-network challenged, a friend offered to do some advertising in one of her social Facebook groups. Hopefully people will want to come and spend some time together while making fun loving cards. I this works out – I promise to upload some pics from the workshop 🙂

Another fun news is that earlier this month I subscribed to the Simon Says Stamp! monthly card kit, which means that I will be receiving themed kits to create beautiful cards using the most recent releases and up-to-date quality materials. I can’t wait for my first kit 🙂

In the meanwhile, I was in a birthday party last week, and naturally volunteered to  make the card, so stay tuned and see that card.

I think that’s enough exciting news for one day. Promise to become more active from now on (now that I ran out of ‘excuses’…).
